Ask a question tied to your address

Give the administrator the project address, utility service types, existing heating fuel, proposed indoor and outdoor models, contractor, and planned installation date. Share account details only through the administrator's appropriate private process.

Ask directly: “This home receives electricity from Longmont Power & Communications and natural gas from Xcel. Under the rules for this installation date, which heat-pump incentive, if any, applies?” Request the answer and applicable document in writing.

Also ask whether retaining the furnace changes the result, whether the contractor and matched equipment qualify, what must happen before work starts, and when the application is due. Do not assume a gas account used for another appliance qualifies the same way as the project's existing space-heating setup.

Check the Longmont-side program separately

Efficiency Works' January 2026 guide lists Longmont Power & Communications residential electric service among its eligibility requirements, with additional program rules. That does not establish an individual heat-pump award. Efficiency Works January 2026 guide.

Ask its administrator whether your project qualifies now, what funds are available, and whether combining the proposed incentives is allowed. A utility service territory, a qualifying product, and an approved application are different checkpoints.

Make the quote show what remains conditional

Request the gross price and each proposed deduction separately. Have the contract name the submission owner, payment recipient, and your responsibility if a program does not pay. Ask how an equipment or installation-date change affects the incentive.

We would keep shopping or assessing equipment while these questions are answered, but avoid basing affordability on an unconfirmed payment. A neighbor's successful application under earlier rules does not establish yours.

Your next action is written administrator confirmation for both service accounts and the exact planned installation. That is the evidence needed to turn “possibly eligible” into a usable purchase decision.
